Target Impact

by Brian Hall

Target Impact gives a lifeless victim a voice and informs the predator of the preys' perspective. I attempted to recreate the sound event of a small animal being shot by a pellet gun by wrapping a contact microphone inside of chicken bones, meat, duct tape and a piece of synthetic fur. Aiming a directional microphone near the target, I was able to cue both of the recordings together to create an opportunity for aural analysis and reflection.
