The Earth's Corners by Joseph Olivarez
This is just a cover song. The original title is At The Round Earth’s Imagined Corners by Jim Donne. It is a choral piece for Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass. I thought that it would be a creative idea to sing each part 10 times each, so that the final outcome would be the realization of a full-choir singing the piece, with one voice. I have never heard of anybody else doing this with so many voices. In the song itself there are splits in the Alto, Tenor, and Bass so there are a total of 7 vocal lines. 10 voices over 7 vocal lines would equate to 70 voices. I hope that the final product sounds like a 70-person choir. Ultimately I want this cover of At the Round Earth to succeed. Success to me would equate to this song being enjoyable to the listener and not only thought of as a 'good idea'.
